Your Writing Featured On Great Moments In Parenting - an interview with Editor, Virginia Woodruff

Self-Described as a “virtual parenting happy hour”, Great Moments In Parenting was created by Virginia Woodruff as a place for moms and dads to come to commiserate and laugh about how crazy being parent can be.  A Listen To Your Mother alum, Virginia’s own writing has been featured on such sites as Brain, Child and Huffington Post.  I reached out to Great Moments in Parenting because several Beyond Your Blog fans had specifically mentioned to me what a great experience they had being featured there.  In this podcast, we talk about the types of pieces Virginia is looking for, as well as tips to help you submit something that will get featured!

  1. Just saw this…and I’m so excited you’re featuring Virginia Woodruff. She recently published my short essay in Great Moments in Parenting and I found Virginia easy-going yet thorough to work with. She did a great job of condensing my essay which was over word-limit. She saw value and took time to edit my essay back without sacrificing its “soul” message. Cheers to you, Virginia and Great Moments in Parenting. I look forward to hearing the podcast later today, Susan. Thanks.

  2. I recently received an email from Virginia indicating that my piece submitted several months ago to Great Moments in Parenting was being considered for posting. When I replied “yes” to please consider my piece the email bounced back as undelivered. Is the site closed?

    Thank you

    1. Maybe it was an automated email that can’t be replied to? Their Facebook page has fairly recent postings, so I am guessing they are still active, though I am having trouble getting to their website, so I’m not sure. I have retired my site, so I am no longer current on all of the sites we featured in the past.
