BEYOND YOUR BLOG PODCAST 005: DR. CHRISTINA C. YOTHER – FOUNDER, PROJECT UNDERBLOG: I had the pleasure of interviewing Project Underblog Founder, Dr. Christina C. Yother, to learn all about her unique site, with an approach that is all about the writing and the writer, and doesn’t let page views, shares, likes or follows get in the way of that.

Please note that Project: Underblog is no longer an active site for submissions. On September 27th, 2015, Project Underblog announced that they would be closing their doors: A New Chapter

Project Underblog is the ‘small and mighty’ website that should be on the radar of anyone who likes to read good writing or wants to be featured somewhere that publishes good writing.  If you have ever said to yourself:

“My blog is too small to submit writing anywhere.”

“I’m nervous about submitting because I don’t want to get rejected.”

“I don’t know where to start with submissions.”

“I really want to expand my audience for this post, but I already published it on my own blog.”

OR

“Blogging is so competitive.  I’m so tired of stats and self-promotion.  I need some inspiration!”

…then this podcast is a MUST listen!

I had the pleasure of interviewing Project Underblog Founder, Dr. Christina C. Yother, to learn all about her unique site, with an approach that is all about the writing and the writer, and doesn’t let page views, shares, likes or follows get in the way of that.  Read this excerpt from the Project Underblog ‘About’ page, and see if it brings happy tears to your eyes like it does to mine:

“Anyone can submit and share their voices and stories without consideration of
their blog stats, followers, page ranks, and social media reach.”

  1. I love Project Underblog at Dr. Christina is awesome! I am about to have my second piece featured on Project Underblog and I’m really excited! I subscribe to their updates & always find something interesting to read. I love the diversity.

  2. I got really giddy listening to this, Susan! A BIG THANK YOU to you and Christina Yother for this wonderful, inspiring podcast! I have always told myself how I hated being bothered with the whole ‘brand yourself/market/worry-abt-SEO'(etc) and wished I could just write. I’m so glad that such a safe space does exist where good writing is all that’s necessary. I can gush more about this here but I’ll stop myself. I’ve shared on FB and Twitter, haha! Thanks again!!

    1. Thanks so much Joy! I feel the same about her/Project: Underblog. Very pure and very supportive to writers. Thanks so much for sharing!

  3. I just was able to finally tear away from my crazy toddlers to listen and I am blown away by the two of you! Your comments and compliments and encouragement – wow – I have tears. Truly, without Amy and Christina (and my pal Jessica who has been on me for YEARS to get this started), I never would have been able to start my blog. It’s slow going, but at least I have a place now to share my story. Knowing that people will be interested – that makes it much easier! Much love to you both.
