  1. I have bookmarked this page to listen to later. I’ve always wanted to be published in “Chicken Soup” because years ago their books helped me in so many ways, and now I have a lot to say! Thank you for offering this useful information. I truly thank you!

  2. Loved the clarity of this podcast on how to make a submission of your story. I remember when Chicken Soup for the Soul books first came out and I have been a fan for years. Thank you for this opportunity and the other ones you offer.

  3. Hey Susan,
I have listened and will listen again. While I have a story idea, I have not quite gotten it to jell in my brain enough to share. Still working on that aspect. When I listen again, perhaps that will offer clarity. I appreciate you sharing and the timeliness of the message. Enjoy your week!

  4. I really loved that Amy was very clear about their preferences in terms of writing style (what to do and stay away from). Those are really helpful tips, not just for anyone submitting to this anthology but for any writer wanting to improve their craft. This is a really great podcast!

  5. I responded in the comment section earlier but forgot to ask you a question, +Susan Maccarelli. I would like to submit a story and I am wondering what the policy is regarding previous publication. The story itself has not been published but it is part of a larger publication. Do you know if I can still submit it? Thank you so much for your help.

    1. This is what their guidelines say: Please submit only stories or poems that have not been previously published. The only exception to this is if your work has only been published in a small local publication with limited circulation or on your own blog.

  6. I cannot WAIT to listen to this podcast!!! I am really excited to look into submitting for these books. Thank you SO much for sharing such a significant opportunity with all of us ‘dreamers’.

So we can submit stuff we have written on our own blog? Hmm…. good to know. I will listen to the podcast and I’m sure there will be more clarity for my future steps with this.

    Squee!!

  7. What a great podcast. I will definitely be thinking about stories I can submit, as it is one of my goals to be in a Chicken Soup for the Soul anthology.

  8. This is a great podcast. Thanks so much, Susan for putting this all together. After working on several stories for Chicken Soup of Soul with much rejection, I’m hoping that this time, I’ll get this story “right” in terms of what kind of writing style they are looking for.
